This is very exciting.

I had a book launch at the Westin Place in Toronto!  Included: piano player, small pieces of chicken on skewers, name tags, speeches, wine… I even signed a book! strange.

I had the honour of working with these great people: Making the Book

It took about a year and a half, but we finally compiled a bunch of stories about microfinance clients into an 80 page promotional book.  I worked with Opportunity International, art directing, designing and organizing all the content. Some of the photos I took in Congo, Zambia and South Africa. It was very rewarding to be able to use creativity for something good.

If you are not familiar with microfinance, you should look into it.  KIVA is the most popular one for the social media generation. (fyi – Kiva uses Opportunity Internationals Infrastructure…  You give money to Kiva, and this book makes it happen…).

I love the idea of people keeping integrity, and working hard for themselves… I do not like throwing money at problems and feeling good about ourselves.

facelessbook.com addresses this issue by saying we need to be CREATIVE with our solutions…  Microfinance is a very creative and well thought-out solution.
